A Norristown woman was arrested early Sunday morning, after police found her naked and on all fours along the 500 block of West Main Street. Police initially responded to the area at 12:18 a.m. for a report of a woman taking her clothes off. Upon arrival, police encountered 22-year-old Christyn DiGiorgio, of Norristown, who was pulling grass from the yard while naked and on all fours, according to the report. DiGiorgio's only initial response to police was to reportedly look up, grin widely, giggle, and continue to pull grass, police said. Montgomery County could sell and lease back its primary office building as it seeks to avoid spending tax dollars on needed repairs to the facility, the county announced Thursday. The county purchased the One Montgomery Plaza tower, which sits across Swede Street from the county courthouse in Norristown, for $26 million in 2006. The building houses the bulk of Montgomery County's government offices, but needs as much as $18 million in repairs. What can they say? It's a "GREAT" program. And, Montgomery County's Sheriff Eileen Whalon Behr hopes it can continue. "The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department seeks to expand the Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) Program through the county’s public schools, court system and community events," said Behr in a recent release. "The violence prevention program aims to prevent bullying, youth crime, violence, drug use, and gang involvement." Members of the Montgomery County Detectives have apprehended 19-year-old Maurice Andrews Jr., of Pottstown, who is accused of fatally shooting a man outside of a Pottstown bar last month. Assistant District Attorney Nathan Schadler confirmed the arrest in a report by the Pottstown Mercury, but stated that he could not comment on the circumstances of the arrest due to the sensitive nature of the case. An 8-year-old girl went missing around 6 p.m., but is now found.
UPDATE: The girl has been found, and was returned to her parents. Her father picked her up at the police station. She is now safe. The body of 17-year-old Kevin Allen of Norristown was found Tuesday night in an apartment in North Coventry.
The body of a Norristown teenager was found in an apartment in North Coventry, Chester County on Tuesday night. Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan said that the death of 17-year-old Kevin Allen was a homicide. Allen's body was found in Unit 127 of the Hanover Garden Apartments on Route 724 following a 9-1-1 call Tuesday. Emergency responders discovered Allen's body and "quickly extinguished" a fire at the scene, Hogan said in a statement sent to the media. The Pottstown Mercury, citing a friend of Allen, reported that Allen had recently completed a term on probation.
