In addition to requesting information on the burglary, police are urging residents to lock their homes and vehicles.
The New Hanover Township Police Department is seeking public assistance in obtaining information regarding a residential burglary that occurred yesterday on the 300 block of Moyer Road in the Pottstown section of the township. The request for assistance comes only days after police announced that they received numerous reports of thefts from vehicles in the Windy Hill development and the Kleman Road and Bow Lane area. Copper piping was stolen from two homes on the 100 block of Main Street in Trappe. Both homes are owned by a Boyertown man.
Two homes on the 100 block of Main Street in Trappe Borough were broken into a total of three times in the month of April, with copper piping being the target, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. As previously reported on Patch, individuals allegedly tried unsuccessfully to break into 133 West Main Street between April 11-13, but they did gain entrance to 135 West Main Street, both of which were owned by a Boyertown man. No items were reported stolen at the time, according to the police. Between 2 p.m. on April 19 and 11 p.m. on April 28, individuals gained entrance to one of the homes by breaking out a window on the rear door, police said. The Philadelphia man wanted by Hatfield Township Police for his alleged involvement in the Tasering and robbery of a man inside a vehicle on Feb. 24 turned himself into police Wednesday. Richard Lee Stroud, 20, of a third floor apartment on the 600 block of North 43rd Street, faces charges of felony robbery with immediate serious bodily injury, felony robbery with taking property by force, simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment, felony theft, felony receiving stolen property, felony criminal use of a cell phone, possessing an instrument of crime, and felony use or possession of an electric or electronic incapacitation device, police said. Multiple men burglarized the Professional Pharmacy on North Charlotte Street Thursday morning, after successfully gaining access to the building through the roof. A report from the Pottstown Mercury indicates that police received a call from the pharmacy manager around 1:30 a.m., who stated that the men had broken in through the roof and stolen money from the cash register. The men then exited the building the same way they entered. Though police are waiting to view the store's security footage, the report states that they believe the suspects to be white men. Pottstown Police are searching for three men involved in a suspected armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday night along the unit block of West Third Street. According to a report by Frank Otto at the Pottstown Mercury, a pizza delivery man was robbed of some personal items by three possibly armed men who called for a delivery to a fake address. The report states that the victim appeared to be unharmed, and no medical treatment was required. The three suspects were described as black males, and police stated that the delivery man believed two of the suspects were juveniles. A Federal Grand Jury has indicted three Philadelphia men on charges of robbery which interferes with interstate commerce, in connection with the November 3 robbery of a jewely store in Limerick. According to a release by the United States Attorney's Office, Willie Hawkins Smith, Brian Marquise Sheed and Amin Abdur-Rahe Shabazz, all of Philadelphia, allegedly stole 12 wristwatches with an approximate value of $64,809 from the Ultra Diamonds jewelry store located on West Lightcap Road. The indictment adds that the trio used both actual and threatened force by brandishing and swinging a sledgehammer to threaten store employees and destroy property. A homeless Pottstown man has been charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass in connection with an incident along the unit block of North Evans Street on November 16. According to court documents, police responded to the residence for a report of a possible theft from an apartment. as well as a nearby vehicle. Witnesses stated that they allegedly saw a black male enter the residence and exit with a black bag. Upon exiting the apartment, the suspect allegedly stole a red power saw from a nearby pickup truck. Witnesses also stated that a white male was seen waiting nearby.
