One Dead in Shooting Outside Brian's Cafe

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed outside of Brian's Cafe on Jefferson Avenue early Friday morning.

An early-morning shooting outside of Brian's Cafe on Jefferson Avenue has claimed the life of an unidentified 27-year-old man. According to a release from the Montgomery County District Attorney's office, the shooting occurred at 2:17 a.m. along the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue. Upon arrival, police discovered a 27-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by Goodwill Ambulance to Pottstown Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim's name is being withheld pending family notification. According to a source in the law enforcement community, a second shooting victim was later discovered in Lesher Alley shortly before 8 a.m. Friday morning. Gallery: Candlelight Vigil for Sandy Hook

West Ward residents, led by Ray Liberto, organized a candlelight vigil for the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary in Railroad Plaza in Lansdale Sunday night, where each victim's name was read and a balloon released in their honor

It was the definition of "community." Organized by the west ward neighborhood in Lansdale, more than 100 citizens came together at Railroad Plaza in the borough Sunday night — candles aflame — for a vigil for the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre in Newtown, CT. Led by resident Ray Liberto, the vigil lasted about a half hour. Trinity Lutheran Church Rev. Paul Lutz opened the night with a benediction. The most touching part of the evening was the release of green and white balloons upon the reading of each victim's name by resident Drew Stockmal. Resident Lisa Patrick assisted with the balloons. Where to Give Locally for Hurricane Sandy Cleanup

This is an ongoing and updated list of local Hurricane Sandy cleanup efforts in the North Penn, Indian Valley and beyond. Email volunteerism efforts to tony.didomizio@patch.com. The Towamencin Soccer Club U9F Tornadoes and U12F Tigers are coordinating a collecting effort on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Grist Mill Park fields from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The park and fields are at the corner of Forty Foot Road and Allentown Road. Collection will be delivered to Fairview Village Church in Eagleville, who will then deliver to New York and New Jersey. Here are needed items in their effort on Saturday:   The Gutter Guys at Route 309 and Trewigtown Road in Colmar are collecting clothes, blankets, pots, pans, silverware, dog food and more for hurricane victims…
