Pottstown Dog Attack Victim to Undergo Second Surgery, Reports Say

The man who rescued the woman who was attacked by her three mix-breed dogs will undergo a second surgery to repair wounds to his legs and arms. All three dogs will be euthanized.

A good Samaritan who rescued a female from her three attacking dogs on Friday evening will have to undergo a second surgery to repair injuries to his arms and legs.

The attack began shortly after 4 p.m. at the intersection of Adams and Wilson Streets in Pottstown, according to 6ABC. The report states that a female sustained serious injuries after her three mixed-breed dogs attacked her outside her home.

A man who witnessed the attack rushed to the woman's aid, in an attempt to free her from the dogs, according to reports. He suffered serious injuries to both his arms and legs.

"I saw a lot of meat hanging from his calf and that's really all I saw," said one witness, in an interview with WFMZ. "I mean, he had extensive damage to the back of his calf."

He underwent one surgery over the weekend, but will require a second procedure to repair damage to his calf, according to reports.

A third person was also bitten by the canines, as she and group of other residents ran to help the man who previously freed the dogs' owner, reports the Mercury.

All three victims were taken to the hospital, with the male victim being rushed to Reading's trauma center, according to WFMZ.
